GREAT PANAF SCHOOLS

NURSERY AND PRIMARY SESSION – BARNAWA – KADUNA

Dear Esteemed Parents

On behalf of the Management, Staff and pupils of this great institute, I welcome you back from the long vacation.  It is with an indescribable joy and gratitude in my heart to the Almighty that I welcome in particular our new parents.  In the same vein I also wish to proudly yet most respectfully welcome back our own old parents who have been with us through thick and thin knowing we are the best alternative. May God bless you all for choosing Great Panaf Schools.  I wish us all a fruitful and fulfilling new session.

School resumed on 16th September, 2019 and will close 13th December, 2019, God willing.  Any adjustment will be duly communicated.

For this session, we have mapped out a lot of educative child centered academic and extra curricular activities in order to bring up a holistic child who will have a voice anywhere in the world.

This is a session where basic underlying ethics and principles will be religiously adhered to.  A session:-

–           Full of fun-filled academic and extra-curricular activities

–           Where the child’s confidence and self-esteem will be deliberately focused on

–          They will be taught critical thinking, creativity and problem solving skills.

–           Vocational training will be taught to help our pupils potential entrepreneurs

–           Efficient and effective service for pupils will be our priority.

–           Practical life activities will be intentionally taught including grace and courtesy.

–           All teachers/caregivers will give nothing but their best having been trained to do so.

–           Teachers will be deliberate role models, inspiring our children to work hard to achieve/attain the highest                       possible standard in all respects within a secure and serene environment.

–           Our pupils will be motivated to set and attain their goals.

–           Discipline and good morals will be embedded in our children without any form of bullying.

–           We will work to curb juvenile delinquency and to mitigate against social vices among our children.

–           Our learners will be exposed to international, national, state and inter-school competitions.

In view of the aforementioned, the theme for the session is “Winning Together” in other words “Team Work”.

You will agree with me that unless there is agreement, commitment and cooperation between the school and the parents we can never work together.  In other words I employ you to deliberately work with us to bring out the best in our children.

To achieve the set goals for this session, the school desires your maximum cooperation in order to record victories.  Our parents/teacher communication gap must be bridged.  We must see ourselves as partners in producing the leaders of tomorrow.  The school can not do this alone likewise the parents hence the need for team work.  Machel Samora says “unity and victory are synonymous”  “When spiders unite, they can tie down a lion” (Ethiopian proverb).

Below are some of the activities drawn up to achieve the goals for the term:

Staff Training

An intensive staff training took place at the beginning of the term from 2nd – 6th September, 2019.  The seminars are aimed at equipping the teachers for cordial pupils/teachers relationship, building staff capacity, expanding their areas of specialization and providing resources for the benefit of teaching and learning.  There was also a step down on jolly grammar.

Clubs and Societies

The importance of clubs and societies can not be overemphasized.

–           They stimulate and arouse the pupils’ interest in life skills, creativity, ambitions etc.

–           They encourage group work and informal interaction among the children in their various clubs.

–           They make learning easy and interesting

–           They serve as veritable learning and teaching tools for effective knowledge transfer.

Below are the existing clubs and societies in the school.

  1. Jets Club
  2. Creative minds
  3. Dance drama
  4. Karate
  5. Girl guides
  6. Press/debating club
  7. Home makers

End of Session Result

At the end of the session, there will be a collation of the 3 terms aggregate in order to arrive at the overall best in both arms.  This means first, second and third term results will be summed up and divided by 3 to give us the cumulative.  Prizes would be awarded based on this.  Therefore, pupils are advised to work hard each term so that they will standout.

Uniform and Dressing

All uniforms must be worn completely and properly.  Our children must always appear smart and tidy.  Parents should reframe from using hair extensions and beads/hair accessories.  No dangling earrings, bangles and so on.  Also, uniforms must be purchased from the school only.

Open Day

Our open day for this term comes up on Tuesday 22nd October, 2019 by 12:00 noon – 3:00pm to commence the mid-term break from 23rd – 25th October.  Schools resumes on 28th October, 2019.  All parents are expected to be in attendance unfailingly. All other school activities will be released in the calendar of activities.

Again, we welcome all our wonderful enthusiastic pupils back to school, we sure missed you all and are excited to have you back.  We pray that by the Grace of God you will enjoy the term and learn a lot.  We wish you a happy successful and peaceful term.

Thank you and God bless.

GREAT PANAF SCHOOLS – BARNAWA KADUNA

BEGINNING OF TERM NEWS LETTER 2019/2020 ACADEMIC SESSION

Dear Esteemed Parents,

I extend our very warm welcome to everyone back to school, especially our new parents, who joined us this September.   After  a  busy  holiday  of  building  and renovations,  we  expect  to  see  the  school  buzzing  with  excited  children  and happy smiling faces.

I am sure you will agree that the school has certainly taken a new look over the holidays  and  I  am  very  grateful  to  my  Directors  and  other  staff  members  who have been working so hard to get this completed prior to the start of the term.

Aside the physical development/renovations, the teachers resumed two weeks earlier to get ready for the new academic year.   An in-house workshop/seminar was  organized  and  it  was  very  exciting  as  important  topics  such  as  class management,  anger  management,  effective  service  delivery,  goal  setting  to mention but a few were delivered.  With these preparations, we are very sure that service  delivery  would  be  very  effective  and  you  will  be  very  glad  you  chose Great Panaf Schools for your children/ward(s).

We  also  express  our  profound  gratitude  to  God  Almighty  for  the  excellent 2018/2019 WAEC/NECO examinations result recorded.  The performance of our students was very excellent in both exams.   We are proud to inform you that many of them have secured admission in the various universities of their choice. We give God all the Glory.

Theme For The Term

It has been our tradition that every academic year we look into areas that need holistic development/improvement and    a theme is selected centered on the area.   This  year  is not  an  exception;  the theme for  this  year  is  “Building Good Character For A Better Tomorrow”.  The focus is on both students and teachers; we  intend  to  inculcate  moral  disciplines  through  our  norms  and  values.    We intend to achieve this by enforcing discipline in classes, the hostels and the entire

School premises.   Moral  instructions  would  be  passed  across  to  students  and teachers  on  the  assembly,  classes  and  during  our  club  periods.   Every hand must be on deck to be able to achieve this.  May God help us all – Amen.

Extra Curricular Activity

We shall maintain the same clubs ran in the last academic year; the clubs are: Literary And Debating, JETS Club (for science students) NAFDAC, NCSC Club, Chess  Club,  Karate  Club,  Cheerleading,  Ballet,  Girl  Guide  and  French  Club. Every student must belong to one club; we encourage our new students to select a  club  of  their  interest  and  fully  participate  in  all  activities. Changes are  only allowed on the first two weeks of resumption.
